The Edison Centre has been awarded funding from Plymouth City Council to continue its vital work in supporting and caring for children struggling to manage mainstream education due to special educational needs, adverse childhood experiences, and traumas.
City gets new network for school governors
The Plymouth Governor Network is a community of school and college governors in Plymouth. The network provides a platform for governors to connect, collaborate, and share good practice to improve their effectiveness. The Network aims to promote good governance and support governors in maintaining the high quality of education in the city.
Marjon joins Plastic Free Plymouth pledge
Plymouth Marjon University has joined over 300 Plymouth organisations in the Plastic Free Plymouth campaign led by Environment Plymouth. Environment Plymouth, which launched in 2017, is a network of groups and individuals dedicated to making Plymouth a greener place and tackling issues around sustainability. The group have a combined goal of preventing plastic pollution.
Local schools join inclusion charter
A group of local schools have signed the Plymouth Inclusion Charter following their commitment to inclusive practice. Discovery Multi Academy Trust completed an audit of what they have implemented to support its children, families, and staff, which enabled it to join the Charter.
Marjon Stores launch
Last week, Plymouth Marjon University launched its new community shop - Marjon Stores. The shop is available for students, staff, and the community, stocks Co-op products, and sells hot and cold foods to take away.
